Balrog of Morgoth - How to paint tutorial Part 2/3 - Μπαλρογκ Μάθημα πως να τον βάψετε Μέρος 2/3

Hello everyone. We will continue the tutorial about how to paint the Balrog of Morgoth since I have show in the part 1 the preporation

Γεια χαρά. Συνεχίζουμε με το μάθημα για το πως βάφουμε τον Μπαλρόγκ αφού στο μέρος 1 είχαμε δείξει την  προετοιμασία.

Let's begin with the set of colours that we need. 

- Vallejo White (70951)
- Vallejo Lemon yellow (70952)
- Vallejo Light orange (70911)
- Games Workshop Blood red (61-06)
- Vallejo Flat red (70957)
It isn't necessary to use the exactly same colours just similar to that. 

With this set of colours we'll paint almost all the figure like our for flames in the mane of the wings and body.

The way I used the colours in all the miniature is

White

White - Lemon yellow (1:1)(parts)

Lemon yellow

Lemon yellow - Light orange (1:1)

Light orange

Light orange - Blood red (1:1)

Blood red

Blood red - Flat red (1:1)

Flat red 

Ξεκινάμε λοιπών με τα χρώματα που θα χρησιμοποιήσουμε. Έχουμε τα έξης:

- Vallejo White (70951)
- Vallejo Lemon yellow (70952)
- Vallejo Light orange (70911)
- Games Workshop Blood red (61-06)
- Vallejo Flat red (70957)
Δεν είναι απαραίτητο να χρησιμοποιήσετε ακριβώς τα ίδια χρώματα απλά να έχουν περίπου αυτή την κλιμάκωση.
Αυτό το σετ των χρωμάτων θα μας χρειαστεί για όλη σχεδόν την φιγούρα μας δηλαδή για τις φλόγες στην χαίτη του τα φτερά του και το σώμα του.

Ο τρόπος που χρησιμοποίησα τα χρώματα είναι :

White

White - Lemon yellow (1:1)(μέρη)

Lemon yellow

Lemon yellow - Light orange (1:1)

Light orange

Light orange - Blood red (1:1)

Blood red

Blood red - Flat red (1:1)

Flat red 

Before you begin to paint you must take some serius decisions. The first is how to paint flames. Will it be near the center of the body white, and as it goes out it becomes deep red or just the opposite. I've chosen the first one. I believe it look more natural. So when we paint flames on his body it would be from white to red

 Πριν ξεκινήσουμε να βάφουμε πρέπει πρώτα να πάρουμε μερικές αποφάσεις. Η πρώτη είναι πως θα βάφουμε τις φλόγες του δηλαδή αν στο κέντρο της κοντά στο σώμα θα είναι άσπρη και όσο πηγαίνει προς τα έξω θα γίνεται βαθιά κόκκινη ή το αντίστροφο. Εγώ επέλεξα το πρώτο. Το θεώρησα πιο φυσικό. Έτσι λοιπόν όπου θα βάφουμε φλόγα στο σώμα του θα είναι της λογικής απο άσπρο προς κόκκινο.

Paint with white-lemon yellow and after that with lemon yellow layers at the flame on his mane and between his crackles and see the result. If it is satisfying we continue.

 Βάψτε με white-lemon yellow και μετά με lemon yellow την φλόγα στην χαίτη του καθώς και στις ρωγμές στο σώμα του. Αν το αποτέλεσμα μας αρέσει τότε συνεχίζουμε

We continue painting with Lemon yellow - Light orange etc to Flat red the mane. If you don't like the result don't continue further. It is better to repaint it because the mane is the the center of the miniature and the first thing you see.

Συνεχίζουμε να βάφουμε με Lemon yellow - Light orange κλπ μέχρι Flat red την χαίτη. Εαν το αποτέλεσμα δεν σας ευχαριστεί μην προχωρήσετε παρακάτω. Είναι προτιμότερο να ξαναβάψετε την χαίτη του γιατί η χαίτη είναι το κεντρικότερο σημείο στη  μινιατούρα και το πράγμα που βλέπει κάποιος πρώτο.

As at the mane we paint the hand and the body. We try to make a gradation from white to flat red at many points on his body. This is how he'll look more realistic. 

Όπως και στην χαίτη έτσι και εδώ βάφουμε τα χέρια και το υπόλοιπο σώμα. Προσπαθούμε να δημιουργήσουμε μια διαβάθμιση από το άσπρος έως το βαθύ κόκκινο σε διάφορα σημεία στο σώμα του ώστε να δείχνει πιο ρεαλιστικό.

Try to make the gradient of the colours as good as you can because when we paint the upper points with black it will not cover them all the flaws.

Προσπαθήστε να κάνετε την διαβάθμιση των χρωμάτων όσο πιο καλά μπορείτε γιατί όταν θα βάψουμε με μαύρο τα σημεία που εξέχουν δεν θα καλύψει όλες τις ατέλειες

Now we use black colour and we paint his upper scales. Try to be very accurate because the black colour covers almost all the colours. At this stage the colours under the black will pop-up

Και τώρα βάφουμε τις φολίδες του με μαύρο. Προσπαθήστε να είστε εδώ όσο πιο προσεκτικοί γίνετε γιατί το μαύρο καλύπτει κάθε χρώμα. Μόλις εφαρμόσετε το μαύρο χρώμα τα χρώματα γύρο του θα αναδυθούν. 

And we go on with the wings
Προχωράμε με τα φτερά του

Apply one coat with white

Εφαρμόζουμε ένα χέρι λευκό

Now with lemon yellow

 Τώρα με lemon yellow

Light Orange - Blood Red (1:1)

Finally apply a thin layer with White - Lemmon Yellow to light a bit the wings

Τέλος εφαρμόζουμε ένα λεπτό στρώμα από White - Lemmon Yellow για να φωτίσουμε λίγο τα φτερά

With great attention and patience we paint the bones of the wings. Look how nice it looks

Με πολύ μεγάλη προσοχή και υπομονή βάφουμε τα κόκαλα των φτερών. Δείτε πόσο όμορφα δείχνουν μετά

Here is the time to make our second and big decision. How to paint his wings. The most common way I've 's very easy and seen is to paint them almost all black and leave some details. It's very easy and fast way but I didn't like it at all.
To tell you the truth from this point and above I was continuously thinking to leave him as it was. The colours was so bright, so vivid and you could see all the details. I really loved him and it took me about 2 weeks to take the risk to go to the next step.
As I liked him with bright colours I decided to paint only the sinews of his wings. So first coat ... very very very careful and thin dry brush with black to see the details.
After that dilute a lot your black colour and with a very thin brush paint the sinews. Please be very patience at this point because it is very important and there is no way back!

Εδώ πρέπει να πάρουμε την δεύτερη τεράστια απόφαση. Πώς θα βάψουμε τα φτερά! Ο πιο σύνηθες τρόπος που είδα είναι να βαφτούν τα φτερά σχεδόν όλα μαύρα αφήνοντας μερικές λεπτομέρειες. Αυτή η τεχνική είναι πάρα πολύ εύκολη και γρήγορη αλλά δεν μου άρεσε καθόλου.
Για να σας πω την αλήθεια σε αυτό το σημείο συνέχεια σκεφτόμουν να τον αφήσω όπως είναι. Τα χρώματα ήταν τόσο ζωντανά και φωτεινά και οι λεπτομέρειες ήταν αρκετά εμφανείς που λειπόμουν να τον σκουρίνω. Πέρασαν σχεδόν 2 βδομάδες μέχρι να πάρω την απόφαση να ρισκάρω και να πάω στο επόμενο βήμα.
Και αφού μου άρεσαν τα έντονα χρώματά του αποφάσισα να βάψω μόνο τα νεύρα των φτερών του. Έτσι λοιπόν περνάμε με πολύ πολύ προσοχή ένα χέρι μαύρο με την τεχνική στεγνού πινέλου για να φανούν οι λεπτομέρειες.
Έπειτα διαλύετε αρκετά μαύρο και με ένα πολύ λεπτό πινέλο βάφετε τα νεύρα. Να είστε πάρα πάρα πολύ υπομονετικοί σε αυτό το σημείο γιατί είναι πολύ σημαντικό και δεν υπάρχει επιστροφή!

After that it comes the body. The same think. We apply black colour with bry brush trying not to cover a lot of the details.

Μετά βάφουμε το σώμα. Και εδώ χρησιμοποιούμε με την τεχνική του στεγνού πινέλου προσέχοντας να μην καλύψουμε πάρα πολλές λεπτομέρειες

At the end we have to paint the face and the claws. I use the :
-Vallejo brown (70786)
-Vallejo Leather brown (70871)
for the claws and
-Vallejo Dark sea grey (70991)
for the face


Τέλος πρέπει να βάψουμε το πρόσωπο και τα νύχια. Χρησιμοποίησα :
-Vallejo brown (70786)
-Vallejo Leather brown (70871)
για τα νύχια
-Vallejo Dark sea grey (70991)
για το πρόσωπο

One coat brown

And of course the face.
Και φυσικά το πρόσωπο.
